Time flies and we have reached the last day of the studio classes.

Today students continued to work on the final composition of their casts pieces, some of them considered to use the pieces as a relief, fixing the pieces in a vertical base while others considered it as sculpture using the horizontal base exploring all the sides of the pieces, others incorporated the molds as part of the sculpture.

In addition it was how to attached the pieces together, some used the white glue or methyl cellulose to glue the paper cast while others used the tack glue to attach the plaster casts and some of them will work at home to attach it with silicone when the composition needs more reinforcement because some heavy plaster pieces.

Furthermore, color was an important component to add to the sculpture, some students focused in painting it with primary colors, others with metallic colors to looks like it was made of metal, others had a realistic color approach.

Couple of students brought other objects as wood or plastic tray, dried leaves and branches to incorporate in the sculpture. Some sculptures were made in a minimalist way with few objects and colors while others create a profusion of colors and shapes, some considered a concept related to the movement of the repetition and others symbolic meanings.

It was impressive to see all the focus and hard work involved in today’s class to match the deadline to finalize the sculptures.

Nice to see all coming together, the techniques they have learned with their creative process.

We look forward to see all the sculptures finished in display next week.
