Make!Do! ; Week5

Today is a pre-production workshop where all the students brought their prototypes, illustrations, and final project ideas to share in the class and we helped the students to refine their idea:

Dong Lien is going to make a series of three projects on activities that people can do with their kids and family.

Jenny Cheng had a desire to DIY to make something  that helps people transport larger objects and suitcase more easily on the street  – a device that can be assembled and disassemble in as little as 5 minutes.

Penny Fei has an idea of a moving mirror that a person can see the back of his/her head easily when they are getting dressed, or had a haircut.

ChungKui 傳葵 was using this workshop to encourage herself to ” think of one idea a day” and force herself to come up with new ideas everyday . Her instructions includes :  A sticky cake sticker design that keeps cake in place ;  a DIY belt that monitor a person’s waist with colored holes so she can monitor her own weight ; a solar charging hat that can charge fans, cellphone, flashlights ;  She also mentioned that she wanted to make an ipad app that can become virtual friend for elderly — I thought that was quite an interesting idea, even if she doesn’t have the technical skills to make an ipad app yet , CK should still developing this ipad app idea a little bit more using some more reference  images and words to describe it.

Judi made a Sachet using orange peels and baked and sundried the peels and put them into a nice little bag that she can put in the closet or carry it around for good smell. It’s beautiful.

Jones wants to build a flying toy that make roach fly higher. Irene can make hats and candles use everyday and recycle materials.

Fiona had been involved in rescuing the Tulips around the city park every year – it’s an environmental project that she started on her own. In her instructions, she will document her efforts and share the information about how to rescue and plant the flowers.
