MEMORY, HISTORY IN ZINES AND ARCHIVES, WEEK 2_10/18/15

In our second class, students took the time to brainstorm the format, content and audience for their zines. After the brainstorming session, we did some quick designs and prototyping to ensure that the book design was sustainable and aesthetic aligned with what we hoped to create. After the prototyping, students immediately jumped into designing their zines. There are a range of topics including: befriending a monkey on a mountain and learning the importance of relationships with other animals, holiday traditions, violence against women, the history of the cultural revolution, a collection of letters from family in Ecuador and teen fashion. Overall, I am really excited about the range of topics and the range of zine designs. Next week, we will begin to finalize our work!
