Collective Storytelling Workshop

with Manuel Molina Martagón and Juan Recamán

Mar 12- May 14 2016

2:30-5:30pm

At Queens Museum

Program in English

Students will be immersed into the unlimited possibilities of
words, sound and image. By using intuition, participants will learn
how to mix words and images to explore minds and feelings. We
will be learning about fiction as an element to explore our daily life. This workshop promotes the use of different languages but demands communication in English for collective understanding. At the end of the workshop, participants will discover words as precious things, increase confidence in their artistic inner vision, and gain teamwork skills by producing an experimental video work. A strong commitment in working collectively is required. Open to all levels of video and photographic skills.

Manuel Molina Martagón and Juan Recamán are local artists and educators working primarily in photography, video and creative writing. Although working independently, they will work collaboratively for this workshop. Their work has been exhibited and featured nationally and internationally in galleries, museums and film festivals such as Oberhausen Film festival and The Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, Art Museum of the Americas in DC. Both artists has been teaching at New New Yorkers Programs since 2009.
