Through this 9-week long workshop participants will create a collaborated printmaking piece by combining Korean ink painting and different materials and other techniques such as Mulberry paper, colored hanji paper or a wash technique.
Inspired by one of Queens Museum’s exhibition artwork, participants will learn basics of ink painting as well as techniques on printmaking such as simple woodcut or linoleum cut to create unique artworks. For example, students will have the option to draw a background on Korean traditional paper with ink painting, and use this paper for printmaking. Or vice versa, make a print first and then add strokes of ink or wash later.
