Come and join us for a six-week seminar on performance art and life!
Through a series of exercises, audio visual presentations, and assignments, participants will undertake an observation of their everyday activities and use them to develop actions, performances, interventions, and experiences. Looking at the work of historical figures and collectives from the United States and the Americas, we will delve into the world of performance art and create our own performance pieces inspired on our life experiences.
Nicolás Dumit Estévez is a performance artist born in the Domincan Republic. His work treads an elusive path that manifests itself performatively or through experiences where the quotidian and art overlap. He has exhibited and performed extensively in the U.S. in venues like the Madrid Abierto/ARCO, The IX Havana Biennial, and PERFORMA. Estévez has also collaborated with artist Linda Mary Montano and is the recipient of numerous awards and the author of various publications.

Por medio de ejercicios presentaciones y tareas, los participantes de este curso desarrollarán sus propias obras de perfomance usando sus experiencias, sus añoranzas y su quehacer diario. Examinando las obras de otros artistas de renombre de las Américas adentraremos en el mundo de las artes creando nuestras propias presentaciones basadas en nuestros pensamientos y
experiencias.

Estévez tiene una larga carrera con presentaciones en los festivales del Madird Abierto, La Bienal de la Habana y PERFORMA. Estévez también colabora con la legendaria Linda Mary Montano, y ha sido premiado numerosas veces. Además de artista Estévez se desempeña también como autor de libros tratando con la temática de las artes y la vida cotidiana.

尼古拉斯，是一個來自於多明尼加的跨領域藝術家，主要從事表演藝術創作，在全美與國際間皆有豐富展演資歷，包括: 馬德里不設防公共藝術節，西班牙當代藝術博覽會，第九屆古巴哈瓦那雙 年展，行為藝術雙年展PERFORMA…等等。近期與藝術家Linda Mary Montano合作，接受到許多的獎助以及各式的出版機會。此外也在各地駐村，曾在柏林的Transart學院教書，現工作並居住在紐約南布朗克斯區。
