Come and learn 21st century building skills with interactive technologists and artists.
This workshop will focus on the foundations of 3D printing and serve as an introduction to open source 3D modeling software. We will get you up and running with basic approaches to 3d printing and provide a fun and rewarding experience and professional assistance on what tools and techniques to focus on for your area of interest—whether in jewelry, sculpture, scale models, machine gears, or our favorite robotics.
This is a basic introduction class for beginners. We welcome all age and encourage teenagers over 13 years to join us. This class will be taught mainly in English, with Spanish, and Mandarin translation available.
Molmol Kuo is a technologist and media artist who enjoys telling stories with new media, moving images, kinetics and interactive sculpture. She received scholarship for her studies on interaction design at New York University in 2008. She was awarded as Tisch school of Arts’ interdisciplinary grant recipient in 2011. Her interactive LED installation, Connecting Light, was part of the London 2012 Festival, occupied the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site over seventy miles.
