Silkscreen Printing in Mandarin

Come and learn about silkscreen printing with artist Siang-Jen Yang!

Printmaking is an ancient art form, but still tightly bound to our daily lives. This course will start with a brief introduction of silkscreen printing, followed by its practical application in stencil and emulsion-base screen printing. You will print your onto paper, and textile.

Siang-Jen Yang is a Taiwanese artist with a BFA degree from the National Taiwan Normal University and an MFA degree from Pratt Institute, NY. He works as an art educator and artist in New York City. His work has been featured in selected shows like the International Print & Drawing Biannual Exhibition in Taiwan, the Masur Museum of Art Competition, and other group shows. Siang-Jen Yang is also the director and instructor of the Thinking Art Studio.

版畫是一項歷史悠久卻又與我們日常生活密切相關的藝術形式，本課程將帶領大家認識實地操作版畫中與日常生活最息息相關的孔版畫，帶領學員先以簡易的型版，將個人喜愛的圖案轉印在紙張上，再進一步深入學習使用感光乳膠絹網，將自己設計的圖案的印製出來，甚至印刷在衣服、布料等織品上，讓藝術走進生活中。請加入我們一起和藝術家楊翔任學習基礎絹印!
楊翔任，台灣師範大學美術系畢業，自大學時期開始研究版畫創作。2010年於紐約普瑞特藝術學院取得藝術碩士學位，主修版畫。畢業後於紐約地區從事藝術創作及教學，作品曾入選中華民國國際版畫素描雙年展，美國Masur 美術館年度展，Great Lake素描雙年展及各聯展。2011年舉辦《如我所見》個人創作展，2013年入選台南索卡藝術中心青年藝術家徵件展。現為紐約布魯克林藝想美術教室主任兼教師。
