Contemporary dance is usually experienced in large theaters. But is it possible to bring this experience out into public life? What if dance could live everywhere without boundaries?
Hsiao-Ting Hsieh Hsiao-Wei Hsieh will be breaking with conventions and infiltrating the public space to draw inspiration from it to develop choreographies that reflect the movement present in our everyday lives. Commuters, merchants, students, an old man smoking, a quarreling couple, children playing, all of them create movement and by means of metaphor and allegory the Hsieh sisters will transform the Flushing Library square into a stage.
About Hsiao-Wei Hsieh and Hsiao-Ting Hsieh:
Hsiao-Wei Hsieh and Hsiao-Ting Hsieh are dancers, choreographers and identical twins from Taiwan, currently working in New York City. They have both studied at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and the Martha Graham School. They have performed at New Steps Series, 60X60 Dance, EFSD Show, Graham II Spring Season 2011, WAXworks, New York Experience 2012, and NYC 10 Performance, and Bonnie Bird Theatre in London.

大部分的現代舞蹈都在較正式的劇場裡演出。如何將此表演形式融入公共場域和民眾生活? 有可能可以打破現有的疆界，將舞蹈呈現在生活的角落?
謝 筱婷和謝筱瑋將會突破慣例，把表演滲透於公共場域，並從中尋求激發的靈感。她們對於紐約皇后區的多樣性，以及其難以言喻的美感的所吸引，於是編作 反映日常生活活動的舞蹈。她們觀察乘客，商人，學生，吸煙的老人，吵架的情侶，玩耍的兒童等，這些我們常忽略的肢體活動。透過隱喻和寓言的方式，將法拉盛 圖書前的階梯館廣場轉換成舞台，將街燈和天際線作為表演背景。

謝筱婷和謝筱瑋是來自台灣的雙胞胎編舞家，目前正在紐約市工作與創作。原本學習研究醫療技術和獸醫的她們，因為舞蹈開創了生命另一片嶄新的天空。她 們一同在三一拉邦藝術學院以及瑪莎葛蘭舞團，他們在倫敦的Bonnie Bird和紐約的各種的場地表演，包括: New Steps Series, 60X60 Dance, EFSD Show, Graham II Spring Season 2011, WAXworks, New York Experience 2012, and NYC 10 Performance.

Hsiao-Ting Hsieh Hsiao-Wei Hsieh는 우리의 일상 생활에 존재하는 동작들을 반영한 안무를 발전시키기 위해서 관습을 깨고, 공공 장소를 영감을 얻을 수 있는 공간으로 탈바꿈 시킵니다. 출퇴근하는 사람, 가게 점원, 학생, 담배를 피고 있는 노인, 말다툼을 하고 있는 연인, 놀고 있는 아이들, 이 모든 사람들이 동작을 만들어내고 Hsieh 자매는 이들을 은유와 알레고리로 풀어냄으로써 플러싱 도서관을 무대로 변형시킵니다.
Hsiao-Wei Hsieh와 Hsiao-Ting Hsieh는 무용가이자 안무가이며 현재 뉴욕에서 활동하고 있는 대만 출신의 일란성 쌍둥이 자매입니다. 이들은 Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance와 the Martha Graham School에서 공부하였으며, 뉴욕의 New Steps Series, 60X60 Dance, EFSD Show, Graham II Spring Season 2011, WAXworks, New York Experience 2012, and NYC 10 Performance와 런던의 Bonnie Bird Theatre에서 공연을 해왔습니다.

Usualmente presenciamos a la danza contemporánea por medio del escenario. ¿Pero será posible el traer esta experiencia en el diario vivir? ¿Qué tal sería si pudiéramos participar en esta más allá del formalismo de los teatros?
Hsiao-Ting Hsieh y Hsiao-Wei Hsieh precisamente van a tratar de romper con estas convenciones e infiltrar el espacio público usando como inspiración los movimientos y acciones del quehacer diario. Peatones, comerciantes, estudiantes, el anciano que fuma tranquilamente en los escalones, el pleito amoroso, todos crean sus movimientos llenos de ritmo y vitalidad y sirven de alegoría para esta pieza por la cual transformaremos la plaza del Flushing Library en un ámbito surreal por una hora.
Las Hermanas Hsieh son bailarinas, coreógrafas y mellizas idénticas de origen Taiwanés. Ambas han estudiado danza moderna en el Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance y la Ecuela de Martha Graham. También han participado en New Steps Series, 60X60 Dance, EFSD Show, Graham II Spring Season 2011, WAXworks, New York Experience 2012, y NYC 10 Performance, y el teatro Bonnie Bird en Londres.
