Come and participate in this workshop involving subversive papier-mâché, cardboard and the Great Beauty of the Universe!
In this family workshop you will build a puppet parade from an assortment of recycled materials such as cardboard, tin cans, old sheets, and whatever might be acquired from our lives, or the street. A Theme and an accompanying narrative will be generated by the participants. We will build puppets of all sizes and shapes, from cardboard puppet populations who save our distressed planet to giant gods who digest the dilemmas of the day. No experience necessary and all experiences are welcome to transform our ideas into a visual spectacle.
The workshop will be taught by Gregory Corbino and Jason Hicks veterans of Bread & Puppet Theater and The Flying Donkey Theater. In the past year, Mr. Corbino was a resident at the Isadora Duncan Dance Center in Athens, Greece, while Mr. Hicks has been a touring puppeteer, builder, show writer and musician since 2001; co-founding several puppet troupes, including the RPM Puppet company, The Semi-Upright Puppet Company, and The Flying Donkey Theater. Hicks is now based in NYC where he also works with Great Small Works, conducts the Bread & Puppet Theater’s circus band, and is a trombonist in the Rude Mechanical Orchestra.

¡Únase a nuestro extravagante teatro de marionetas insurgentes!
En este taller construiremos un desfile de marionetas usando papel-maché y materiales reciclados. Juntos crearemos una temática y un plan de trabajo para ensamblar marionetas de todo tipo y tamaño: desde pueblos formados por títeres hasta titanes gigantescos que puedan lidiar con las vicisitudes de nuestro planeta. No se requiere experiencia y recibiremos a todas las edades para participar en este despliegue fenomenal.
EL taller será dictado por Gregory Corbino y Jason Hicks maestros titiriteros del Bread & Puppet Theater. El Sr. Corbino ha ejercido como residente de la compañía de baile Isadora Duncan en Atenas, y el Sr. Hicks tiene 10 años de experiencia como titiritero itinerante, músico y narrador con varias compañías de teatro como la RPM Puppet Co., La Semi-Upright Puppet Co. Y el The Flying Donkey Theater. Hicks reside en NY donde también colabora con Great Small Works, conduce la banda del Bread & Puppet Theater y toca el trombón con la Rude Mechanical Orchestra.

가족 워크샵에 여러분을 초대합니다! 이번 워크샵은 종이, 판지 등 여러가지를 사용하여 꼭두각시 인형 만들기를 합니다.
이번 가족 워크샵에서는 우리 생활에서나 길거리에서 얻어진 여러종류의 재활용된 종이, 판지, 캔, 등을 사용하여 꼭두각시 인형 퍼레이드를 만들 예정입니다. 이야기의 주제는 참여자에 의하여 정하여집니다. 여러가지의 모양과 크기로 인형을 만들 예정이며, 무엇을 만들어 본 경험은 필요하지 않습니다. 경험이 있다면, 만들어본 경험을 토대로 머리속에 있는 아이디어를 독창적이게 만드시면 됩니다.
이번 워크샵은 Bread & Puppet Theater 와 The Flying Donkey Theater 의 베테랑인 Gregory Corbino 와 Jason Hicks 이 가르칠 예정입니다. Gregory Corbino 는 아테네와 그리스에 있는 Isadora Duncan Dance Center 의 레지던트였으며, Jason Hicks 는 2001년 부터 꼭두각시 인형을 조종하며 연극을 쓰고 음악을 해왔습니다. 그리고 또한 RPM Puppet company, The Semi-Upright Puppet Company, and The Flying Donkey Theater를 포함한 여러 꼭두각시 인형단을 창시하였습니다.
