During this 9-week long advanced workshop, participants will have the opportunities to explore New York City and generate personal projects with images and sound. Participants will learn various skills including documentary photography, audio recording and sound editing through the processes of composing their stories and observing their neighborhoods. The two educators will share their knowledge and skills through co-teaching method and assist students to create and represent their final projects.

Yijun Liao and Juan Recamán are New York-based artists and educators working primarily in photography and video. Although working independently,  they will work collaboratively for this workshop. Their work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally, in galleries, museums and film festivals. Ms. Liao and Mr. Recamán has been teaching photography, design and video production classes at New New Yorkers Program since 2009.
