En este taller se explorarán conceptos básicos de participación, colaboración e implementación observando proyectos dentro del campo emergente de el Arte con práctica social. El taller incluye conversaciones con artistas invitados y visitas a proyectos en la ciudad. El taller concluirá con una publicación y acción colectiva en Corona Plaza. Los participantes están invitados a pensar una propuesta de una acción en su comunidad.

Sol Aramendi es una artista y agente para el cambio social. Fundadora de Project Luz, un espacio nómade para aprender, crear y comunicar permitiendo la creación colectiva de los participantes. Sol tiene un Masters en Práctica Social e Queens College, y acaba de recibir la beca de Blade of grass para su proyecto aplicaciones para el poder.

This workshop will explore the basic concepts of Participation, Collaboration implementation and outcomes looking at projects in the emerging field of Socially Engaged Art. Will include conversations with guest artists and off-site visits to projects around the city. We will culminate with a publication and collective action in Corona Plaza. Participants are invited to think through a proposal of an action or a project in their own community.

Sol Aramendi is an artist and a vocal agent for social change. She founded Project Luz, a nomadic physical and conceptual space for immigrant communities to learn, create, and communicate, allowing for the greatest agency and collaborative opportunity for all participants. She holds an MFA in  Social Practice from Queens College. And she is a 2015 fellow of Blade of Grass with her collaboration Apps for Power.
