Time flies by, we reached our last workshop day! We had a small critic looking pieces that were made during the course, to reflect on all the processes experienced during classes such as the moldings in oily clay, water-based clay and alginate with plaster casting and also plaster bandages casting. We also talked about the failures that often occur in most of these processes that diminish with experience but also are sometimes incorporated into the work. We also analyzed the gallery space and discuss the sculptures to be presented in the final exhibition that students will have in December at the Queens Museum, along with the results of other workshops of the New New Yorkers Program. We had an amazing opportunity to watch the performance of Taiwanese tea ritual that was happening in the Museum, and enjoy the design and symbolism of ceramic pottery used in the ritual. Returning to the classroom, we had the our diplomas ceremony, which was very exciting and to conclude, we had a table of food brought by students to celebrate the end of the course, everything was delicious!

O tempo voa, nós chegamos no nosso último dia de aula. Olhamos para as peças que foram feitas durante o curso para refletir sobre todos os processos experimentados como o molde em argila oleosa, argila a base de água e o alginato com moldagens em gesso e também a atadura gessada. Também conversamos sobre as falhas que acontecem na maioria desses processos que vão diminuindo com a experiência mas que também as vezes são incorporados ao trabalho. Também analisamos o espaço da galeria e discutimos as esculturas a serem apresentadas na exposição final que teremos em dezembro, juntamente com o resultado dos outros workshops do New New Yorkers Program. Tivemos uma pausa para assistir a performance do Ritual do chá taiwanês que acontecia no Museum, e apreciar o design e a simbologia das peças cerâmicas usadas no ritual. Voltando a sala de aula, tivemos a cerimônia de entrega dos diplomas, que foi bem emocionante e para finalizar, tivemos uma mesa de comida trazidas pelos estudantes para celebrar o encerramento do curso, estava tudo delicioso!
