Workers’ Studio Project

A few Sundays ago, NNY artist Sol Aramendi engaged with 10 domestic workers from Adhikaar in art making, storytelling and photography, under the Workers’ Studio project. Participants experimented with the camera inside and outside the museum, as photographers and models. The goal was to create an image that later would be the logo of a domestic workers campaign. #Holddiplomatsaccountable is the hashtag of a campaign about labor abuses on domestic workers that come with visas to work with diplomats. Adhikaar has been committed since 2005 to improving the lives of the Nepali-speaking community and getting our voices heard in the social justice movement.
