En esta última sesión del curso de ESOL y Arte, empezamos trabajando en los poemas finales que presentaremos en la exposición del Setiembre 16 en QMA.
La maestra Estela Natal reviso los poemas finales y los enmarcamos que pintamos durante las clases de ESOL. Luego la maestra hizo preguntas usando el juego de: “tirar la pelota” recordándonos que debemos siempre fijarnos en que verbo se usa en la oración completa, para usarlo en nuestra respuesta.
Ejemplo: Pregunta en Ingles: For how long have you been living in New York City?
Pregunta en Espanol: Por cuanto tiempo usted ha estado viviendo en la icudad de Nueva York?
Respuesta en Ingles: I have been living in New York City for seven months.
Respuesta en Español: Yo he estado viviendo en la ciudad de Nueva York por siete meses.
Luego procedimos a la celebración y clausura de este curso de ESOL y Arte, compartiendo la comida, bocaditos y bebida con los compañeros de clase, amigos y familia.
Finalmente hicimos la entrega de diplomas a los alumnos que participaron del curso.
Queremos felicitar a todos los estudiantes por el esfuerzo, dedicación y gran trabajo demostrado en cada clase. Recuerden que este curso es el primero de muchos más que se organizaran por el Museo de Arte de Queens (QMA).

In this last session of the ESOL and Art course, we started working on the final poems that we will present in the exhibition of September 16 at QMA.
The teacher Estela reviewed our final poems and put them into a frame that we painted already during ESOL classes. Then the teacher asked questions using the game of “throwing the ball” reminding us that we should always pay attention on which verb is used in the question, to use it in our full answer sentence.
Example: Question in English: For how long have you been living in New York City?
Question in Spanish: Por cuanto tiempo usted ha estado viviendo en la ciudad de New York?
English Answer: I have been living in New York City for seven months.
Answer in Spanish: Yo he estado viviendo en la ciudad de Nueva York por siete meses.
Then we proceeded to the celebration and closing of this ESOL and Art course: sharing food, snacks and drinks with classmates, friends and family.
Finally we gave diplomas to the students who participated in the course.
We would like to congratulate all the students for the effort, dedication and great work shown in each class. Remember that this course is the first one of many more that will be organized by the Queens Museum of Art (QMA).
