La textura fue el último elemento de diseño incorporado a la clase antes de comenzar a trabajar en los proyectos finales de los participantes. Combinando color y formas, la clase usó adhesivos para recrear texturas que habían creado en semanas anteriores o que habían encontrado en alguno de las tareas fotográficas. El reto consistía en que los adhesivos proporcionados eran de dos tipos muy distintos: blancos y rectangulares o circulares y de color (en ambos casos habían varios tamaños). Como ya ha ocurrido, los resultados fueron sorprendentes y los participantes consiguieron usar el material de maneras diferentes y creativas. Los adhesivos aparentaban ser sencillos al inicio, pero los participantes notaron cuán exigente era conseguir la textura elegida ya que se necesitaba planificar con atención.
Continuamos con exploración de coloreado, repasando algunas de las técnicas (ángulo, presión) usadas previamente, así como combinación de color para dejar todo listo para la selección y diseño del proyecto final.
Los participantes revisarán el trabajo de las semanas anteriores y se les pidió elegir de sus archivos y también se les animó a explorar más. Tendrán oportunidad de trabajar en su patrón por un par de sesiones, probando diferentes versiones hasta que tengan la combinación de color, línea, textura y forma que funcione mejor con su diseño.
Texture was the last design element to be incorporated into the class before starting to work on the participant’s final projects. Combining color and shapes, the class used stickers to recreate textures that had been created in weeks past or that had been found in some of the photo assignments.
The challenge was that stickers were provided in two very different batches: white and rectangular and colored and round (in both cases there were various sizes). As has been the case, the results were quite surprising and participants managed to use the material in different, creative ways. While the stickers seemed quite simple at first, participants noted how challenging it was to achieve the overall texture because some serious planning was needed.
We followed this with some coloring exploration, revisiting some of the techniques (angle, pressure) used previously, and color combination to set everything up for the selection and design of the final project.
Participants reviewed the work of the past weeks and were asked to choose from their files and also encouraged to explore more. They will have a chance to work on their pattern for a couple of sessions, trying different version until they have the color, line, texture and shape combination that works best for their design.
